Racing Autograph Session
August 7th, 2006
The Roush Automotive Collection is pleased to announce the fourth Open House event scheduled for the 2006 summer season to be held on Thursday August 17th from 5:00 p.m.
until 8:00 p.m. Activities planned for the Open House event include a Roush Racing autograph session, car show with awards, Roush Drag Race Competition Parts team display,
engine build demonstration, the Roush Mobile Dynamometer, and selection of authentic race car parts for sale.
NASCAR Nextel cup Series race car drivers Carl Edwards, Jamie McMurray along with NASCAR Busch Grand National Series drivers Todd Kluever and Danny O’Quinn Jr. will be on hand to meet fans and
sign autographs from 6:15 p.m. until 7:45 p.m. A car show hosted by the Roush Owners and Enthusiasts Association will be held during the Open House event. Participants will have the
opportunity to compete for trophies sponsored by Autoweek that will include Best of Show, Best Roush, Best Ford and Best Cobra/Mustang awards. Registration will be free to participants.
Roush Performance will have a strong presence during the Open House event. Drag race fans can check out vehicles used by the five-car Roush team for the research and development of a new
line of Competition Parts scheduled to be released soon.
A two man crew from the Roush Engine Build Department will demonstrate a complete engine build-up, including a live test run upon completion. The Roush Mobile Dynamometer will be available
for those guests who would like to receive performance data on their vehicles. Three power runs will be performed for a modest fee of $75.00 per vehicle.
A large selection of authentic race car parts will be available for purchase. Treasure hunters will find race car body panels from the NASCAR series Roush Racing teams, race driven tires and
wheels, engine components and more.
A series of door prize drawings will be held throughout the evening. Door prize giveaways will include a pair of MIS Grandstand seat tickets for the GFS Marketplace 400 on August 20th,
2006. Additional door prize giveaways will include a variety of Roush Racing memorabilia.
Rock’s Gang, a 50’s style six member band, will entertain guests with their high energy brand of humor and classic rock n’ roll. Guests will be able to satisfy their appetite at the J.R.’s
Garage Filling Station. Hamburgers, hot dogs and other cruise-in favorites will be on the menu.
Parking and shuttle service to the Roush Automotive Collection will be available at Madonna University located on the north-west corner of Levan Rd. and Schoolcraft (I-96) in Livonia. Shuttle
service will begin at 3:30 p.m. and will run until 8:30 p.m.
